External Qi Healing (Wai Qi Zhi Liao)

“Chinese medicine,” often called “Oriental medicine” or “Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM),” encompasses a vast array of traditional medical practices. TCM believes that the body’s vital energy (Chi or Qi) circulates through channels, called meridians that have branches connected to bodily organs and functions. In Chinese Medicine it is believed that low, stagnated and imbalances in energy are the cause of ailments in the human body; Ancient Practices such as Qi Gong are utilized to restore balance. Qigong removes the imbalances or toxins and opens the channels rebalancing the energy. It improves health by adapting to the needs of the client to aid in recovery from ailment or injury. This technique is utilized to improve the flow of Chi, release toxins and begin the healing process. In this the Practitioner scans the body by holding the hands a few inches above the body and assesses the health and balance of Qi.
